TAGINE MAKING CLASS

MONDAY DECEMBER 2 (6-9 pm)

ALL MATERIALS INCLUDED (CLAY, FIRING, AND A SPECIAL SURPRISE AT THE END OF CLASS)

COST: $50

After traveling to Morocco the summer of 2023, I decided I wanted to try my hand at international ceramics…first stop, the Moroccan Tagine…a terra cotta crock pot designed to slow cook stews of lamb or chicken or vegetables. Come on over and we will work through basic techniques to create usable tagines for you to try for yourself.

I will demonstrate all stages of making, firing, curing, and preparing a meal in your own tagine.

Contact Jerry at 208 863 4532 to reserve your spot. Limited to 6 students per class.

About Us

Dorota and Jerry Hendershot have lived on the Boise Bench in the Vista neighborhood for 20 years. For the last 15 of those years, they have together run Parched Earth Pottery studios, a sister studio to Ceramica Arthouse for independent ceramic artists.

With Dorota’s business background from her 22 years at the Boise Co Op, and Jerry’s 22+ years of Ceramic teaching, they are excited to bring their skills and creativity to Ceramica Arthouse for years to come.

Jerry has taught ceramics at Timberline High School for the last 16 years, taught workshops at the Tuscarora Pottery School since 2000, and has been an instructor at Fort Boise Community Center.

Their hope is to connect small businesses in Boise into collaboration with one another, provide a creative outlet for the surrounding community, and to continue creating a place for Boiseans to feel at home.
